ABOUT US

The Film Academy Edinburgh is a filmmaking academy aimed at young people between the ages of 9 and 18. The Film Academy workshops are delivered in two formats: our well established after school Weekly Academy (two separate Academies to choose from, running on a Wednesday or on a Friday following term times) and a Summer School programme. All films are screened at the end of the Academy year, with a number going on to be entered into youth film festivals worldwide.

5-DAY SUMMER FILM SCHOOL

A fun 5-day filmmaking adventure for young people ages 9-12 and 13-18. Our summer film school will provide students with the opportunity to take on all front of camera and behind the scenes roles in making their very own short film.

WEEKLY FILM ACADEMY

The Film Academy Edinburgh is a weekly after-school activity that runs from September to June each year. Open to young people aged 9 to 18, our 2-hour hands on filmmaking classes encourage students to explore their creativity and build their confidence, learning the A to Z of making movies with big screen showcases of their work.
